  • Suyoun Jang is an invited professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Ewha Womans University. She received her B.A. (Political Science and Diplomacy, and NGO Studies), M.A. and Ph.D. in International Studies from Ewha Womans University. 
    
    Her current research is on state fragility, human fragility, food security and peace, and triple nexus. She has published widely in the fields of development, peace, and security. Recent publications include: 'The World Food Programmes'' Contribution to Improving the Prospects for Peace' and its 'Mali and Kyrgyzstan Case Studies,' SIPRI (2019-2020); 'Human fragility in Southeast Asia', a book chapter in Regional Cooperation for Peace and Development, Routeldge (2018); 'Development and Security in International Aid to North Korea', Pacific Review (2017); 'Measuring Peacebuilding and Statebuilding in the New SDG Framework', Journal of Peacebuilding and Development (2016); 'Goal 16 - The Indicators We Want', UNDP (2015); and chapters on security-development nexus in SIPRI Yearbook, SIPRI (2015, 2016).
    
    Before she joined Ewha GSIS in 2021, she was a researcher with the Peace and Development Programme at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in Stockholm, Sweden (2014-2021). She was also seconded to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as Technical Adviser to support the PRAIA Group on Governance Statistics in Praia, Cape Verde.
