2024 Ewha-Harvard Summer School Program
Call for Applicants

EWHA GSIS is inviting undergraduate students to participate in the 2024 Ewha-Harvard Summer School Program, jointly organized by the Graduate School of International Studies at Ewha Womans University and Harvard Summer School. Students from Ewha Womans University and other universities that are credit exchange colleges can participate in this program. The 2024 program will be taught by Professor Nicholas Harkness, a Modern Korean Economy and Society Professor of Anthropology at Harvard University, with the theme of "Global Korea" Students from participating universities will together take classes and explore places related to the class.

▶ Program period : 2024.07.24. (Wed) - 08.17. (Sat), Stay in the campus dormitory.

▶ Program
Lecture on "Global Korea" by Professor Nicholas Harkness of Harvard University. In addition to lectures, various activities such as field trips, an overnight excursion (2 nights and 3 days), watching and discussing movies, and talking with related experts will be held. 

Students will be selected through a process that includes the application, a document screening, and an interview, all of which must be completed in English. This program is opened as a liberal arts course (3 credits, included in credits for graduation) for the summer semester at Ewha. 

Students who successfully complete the program will be given certificates from the Harvard Summer School and Ewha Womans University's Graduate School of International Studies.

▶ Eligibility : Undergraduate students who are interested in the program can apply for the program (except those who are expected to graduate in August 2024). Male students are also eligible.

※ Credit Exchange Universities: Korea University, Korea National University of Education, Sogang University, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Sookmyung Women's University, Seoul Metropolitan University, Yonsei University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

이화여자대학교 국제대학원과 Harvard Summer School이 공동으로 주관하는 “2024 Ewha-Harvard Summer School Program"에 참여할 학부 학생들을 모집합니다. 본 프로그램은 이화여자대학교와 학점교류대학인 타 대학 학생들도 참여가 가능합니다. 2024년 프로그램은 'Global Korea'를 주제로, 현대 한국 경제 및 사회 인류학 전문가인 Harvard University의 Nicholas Harkness 교수님의 "Global Korea" 수업이 진행됩니다. 하버드대학교와 이화여자대학교 및 교류대학의 학생들이함께 수업을 듣고 수업과 관련된 곳을 함께 답사할 예정입니다. 관심 있는 학생들의 많은 참여 바랍니다.

< 프로그램 개요>

▶ 프로그램 일정 : 2024.07. 24(수) - 08. 17(토), 전원 기숙사 생활

▶ 프로그램 특징

하버드 대학교 Nicholas Harkness 교수의, “Global Korea"을 주제로 하는 강의. 강의 외에도 필드 트립과 여행 (2박3일), 영화 관람 및 토론, 관련 전문가와의 대화 등 다양한 활동을 진행함. 

서류심사와 영어면접을 거쳐 최종 선발된 학생에 한하여 수강 가능함. 본 프로그램은 본교 여름 계절학기 교양과목(3학점, 졸업이수학점으로 포함됨)으로 개설됨. 

프로그램을 성공적으로 이수한 학생들에게는 Harvard Summer School과 이화여자대학교 국제대학원에서 각각 수료증이 주어짐.

▶ 지원 자격: 본 프로그램에 관심 있는 본교 및 국내 계절학기 학점교류 대학 소속 학부생(2024년 8월 졸업예정자 제외)이라면 누구나 지원 가능. 남학생도 지원 가능함.

                 ※ 계절학기 학점교류대학: 고려대, 서강대, 서울대, 성균관대, 숙명여대, 서울시립대, 연세대, 포항공대, 한국교원대, 한국과학기술원(KAIST), 한국외대

▶ 프로그램 비용: 여름계절학기 3학점 비용 + 기숙사 체류 비용 + 기타 (추후공지)
