1. 개요

석·박사 통합과정에 재학 중인 학생이 개인적인 사유로 통합과정을 중도에 포기하고 석사학위를 수여 받기 위하여 신청하고자 하는 경우 고등교육법 및 대학원 학칙에 근거하여 석사학위과정으로 전환할 수 있음.

2. 관련 규정

<고등교육법>

제35조 (학위의 수여) ➂석사학위와 박사학위의 과정이 통합된 과정에 있는 사람 또는 같은 과정을 수료하거나 중도에 퇴학한 사람 중 박사학위를 취득하지 못한 사람으로서 학칙으로 정하는 석사학위의 수여기준을 충족한 사람에게는 석사학위를 수여할 수 있다.

<대학원 학칙>

제29조 (학위의 수여 및 종별) ⑪통합과정을 중도에 자퇴하는 자로서 학칙이 정하는 석사학위의 수여기준을 충족한 자에 대하여는 석사학위를 수여할 수 있다.

제34조 (통합과정 자격시험) ➀통합과정에 재학중인 자는 입학 후 4학기 이내에 통합과정자격시험에 합격하여야 한다.

➁제1항의 시험에 합격하지 못한 학생은 제29조 제1항의 요건을 갖추어 석사학위를 받을 수 있다.

3. 지원 자격

석·박사 통합과정에 3학기 이상 재학하고 있는 학생으로서 통합과정을 중도포기하고 석사학위를 수여 받고자 하는 학생

*동일 전공으로만 전환 가능

4. 지원 안내

·서류 제출 기간: 2026. 5. 18.(월) 9:00 - 2026. 5. 22.(금) 17:00

·제출 방법: 국제대학원 행정실 이메일 (gsis@ewha.ac.kr)로 제출 (추후 필요 시 원본제출 요청할 수 있음.)

·통합과정 성적증명서(원본) 1부

5. 유의 사항

·통합과정 자격시험에 합격한 경우에는 전환신청 시 석사과정 종합시험 합격으로 대체 인정할 수 있음

·석사학위과정 종합시험에 응시하고자 하는 학생은 전환신청 승인 후 시험에 응시할 수 있음

1. Overview

Students currently enrolled in the Combined Master’s-Doctoral Program who wish to withdraw from the combined program due to personal reasons and receive a master’s degree may apply for conversion to the master’s degree program in accordance with the Higher Education Act and the Graduate School Regulations.

2. Relevant Regulations (please note this is a translation)

<Higher Education Act>
Article 35 (Conferral of Degrees)
③ A master’s degree may be conferred upon a person enrolled in a combined master’s-doctoral program, or a person who has completed or withdrawn from such a program without obtaining a doctoral degree, provided that the person satisfies the requirements for the conferral of a master’s degree as stipulated by the university regulations.

<Graduate School Regulations>
Article 29 (Conferral and Types of Degrees)
⑪ A master’s degree may be conferred upon a student who withdraws from the combined program before completion and satisfies the requirements for the conferral of a master’s degree as stipulated by the regulations.

Article 34 (Qualification Examination for the Combined Program)
① Students enrolled in the combined program must pass the qualification examination within four semesters from admission.
② Students who fail to pass the examination prescribed in Paragraph 1 may still receive a master’s degree if they satisfy the requirements stated in Article 29, Paragraph 1.

3. Eligibility

Students who have completed at least three semesters in the Combined Master’s-Doctoral Program and wish to withdraw from the combined program and receive a master’s degree.

Conversion is only possible within the same major.

4. Application Information

· Application Period: May 18, 2026 (Mon) 9:00 AM – May 22, 2026 (Fri) 5:00 PM
· Submission Method: Submit documents via email to the GSIS Administrative Office at gsis@ewha.ac.kr
(Original documents may be requested later if necessary.)

5. Required Documents

· [GSIS 6-6] Application Form for Withdrawal from the Combined Program and Statement of Reason (Advisor’s signature is required.)
· One original copy of the academic transcript for the combined program

6. Important Notes

· Students who have passed the Qualification Examination for the Combined Program may have it recognized as equivalent to passing the Master’s Comprehensive Examination upon approval of the conversion application.
· Students wishing to take the Master’s Comprehensive Examination may do so only after approval of the conversion application.
