The Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) invites applications from Master’s program students from the Department of International Studies who wish to participate in the non-degree student exchange program at the International University of Japan (IUJ) during the Spring 2027 semester (April 5 - June 18, 2027). 

1. Application for GSIS Nomination

Students who wish to apply must submit the following documents to the GSIS Main Office via email by Tuesday, October 6, 2026

•    1) Application form (use the attached form)
•    2) Official academic transcript
•    3) Study Plan at IUJ (use the attached form)
•    4) One letter of recommendation
•    5) Current résumé or CV
•    6) Copy of passport bio page

Important: GSIS will nominate selected applicants to the International University of Japan (IUJ). However, final admission decisions are made by the International University of Japan (IUJ).

2. Application to the International University of Japan (IUJ)

Nominated students must complete the online application and submit the required supporting documents by October 26, 2026.

The application generally requires:

•    - IUJ application form
•    - Copies of academic transcripts
•    - IUJ Study Plan
•    - Latest resume (must be typed)
•    - Copy of passport

3. Credit Recognition

Under current GSIS regulations:

•    - Up to 8 credits per semester may be taken at the host university and recognized toward the Ewha GSIS degree.
•    - For Master’s students, a total of up to 12 credits from credit exchange and other credit recognition may be counted toward graduation.
•    - Credit recognition is subject to the required application and departmental approval.
• Students should consult the GSIS Office before registering for courses at the International University of Japan (IUJ).

4. Tuition, Housing, and Living Expenses

Exchange students do not pay tuition fees to the International University of Japan (IUJ).

Students are responsible for all other expenses, including but not limited to:

•    - Tuition fees payable to Ewha 
•    - Airfare and other travel expenses
•    - Housing
•    - Food and living expenses
•    - Health insurance
•    - Visa and residence permit-related expenses
•    - Books and other study materials
