[Invitation to the U.S. Embassy in Korea’s "Diplomats in Action" Program]

Dear Students,

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Korea is pleased to invite you to the "Diplomats in Action" program, a special opportunity to engage with U.S. diplomats. This event will take place on March 27, 2025, and will feature two U.S. diplomats from the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section, who will share their journeys to becoming diplomats, their roles, and responsibilities, as well as discuss topics such as U.S.-Korea relations.

We encourage university and graduate students with an interest in diplomacy, U.S.-Korea relations, and public diplomacy to attend and share this invitation with friends and peers.

[Program Overview] 

The "Diplomats in Action" program is a series hosted by the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, where U.S. diplomats will give lectures and engage with participants through Q&A sessions. Topics will include the path to becoming a diplomat, diplomatic roles and missions, the U.S.-Korea alliance, and life in Korea. The program will be conducted in English.

Date and Time: Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. 

Location: American Diplomacy House, Seoul or via Zoom

Hybrid Program: Participants can choose to attend either in-person or virtually. 

In-person Location: American Diplomacy House, 72-gil 3, Han-gang-daero, Namyeong-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Moderator: Chealin Won, Public Diplomacy Officer, U.S. Embassy Seoul 

Target Audience: University and graduate students (ages 18-35) with an interest in diplomacy, U.S.-Korea relations, and public diplomacy. 

In-person Participants: Those confirmed for in-person participation will receive a participation certificate on the day of the program.

[Registration] Pre-registration is required, and participation is free of charge. (Deadline: March 23, 2025) Only those who have registered in advance will be allowed to participate. Confirmation of in-person or virtual participation will be sent to registered participants via email and text two days before the event.

 Diplomats in Action (주한미국대사관 외교관과의 대화) 프로그램은 주한미국대사관 공공외교과에서 진행하는 시리즈 프로그램으로, 외교관이 되기까지의 여정 및 역할과 임무, 한미동맹, 한국에서의 삶 등에 대해 미국 외교관이 강연하고 참가자들과 상호 교류 및 질의 응답하는 순서로 진행됩니다. 프로그램은 영어로 진행됩니다.
