Ewha Womans University Faculty Recruitment for the 2026 Academic Year

Ewha Womans University announces the recruitment of new tenure-track faculty members for the 2026 academic year.


◈ Recruitment Fields

◈ Eligibility

  1. 1. In principle, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in the relevant field (degree must be conferred before the date of appointment).

  2. 2. Applicants must have no grounds for disqualification from faculty appointment, respect the Christian founding spirit of Ewha, and be willing to contribute to its realization.

  3. 3. Preference will be given to candidates with international education or international research experience.

  4. 4. Applicants must be able to lecture in English or another foreign language upon appointment (including non-Korean nationals).

  5. 5. Where additional qualifications apply to a given field, please refer to the “Special Eligibility Requirements” specified for that recruitment field.
    ※ In fields requiring “Master’s degree or higher,” applicants must have at least two years of teaching or research experience following their Master’s degree.

  6. 6. In accordance with Article 4-3 of the Regulations on the Appointment of Educational Officials, in certain departments, candidates holding a bachelor’s degree from Ewha Womans University may be restricted from appointment:

    • College of Music, Department of Dance: Ewha Womans University Dance B.A. graduates restricted.

    • College of Art & Design, Major in Korean Painting: Ewha Korean Painting B.A. graduates restricted.

    • College of Art & Design, Major in Ceramic Arts: Ewha Ceramic Arts B.A. graduates restricted.


◈ Screening Criteria and Procedures

  • Step 1: Document screening to select candidates for basic and major review.

  • Step 2: Evaluation of research achievements, supporting documents, and public lecture(s) to assess suitability, academic excellence, and teaching competence, leading to selection of interview candidates.

  • Step 3: Final selection through interviews assessing excellence in the major field, teaching and research ability, and qualifications as a faculty member.


◈ Application Period and Method

  1. Period: August 25, 2025 (Mon), 10:00 a.m. – September 8, 2025 (Mon), 4:00 p.m. [Deadline strictly observed].

  2. Method: Applications must be submitted online via the Talent Pool system during the application period (Talent Pool registration is available year-round).


◈ Submission of Documents and Applicant Guidelines

    • Research achievements must include the doctoral dissertation and all works published (or presented) by August 31, 2025.
    • Achievements within the last four years (Sept. 1, 2021 – Aug. 31, 2025) must be prioritized.
    • Up to 20 achievements may be prioritized for Step 2 screening.

  • 3)Application Submission
    • During the application period, select “Recruitment Title,” “Major/Department,” and “Field” on the application page, click [Submit], and confirm the generation of an application number.
    • Applicants may preview the application before submission; after submission, check results and print applications within the application period.
    • If revisions are needed, applicants must cancel the submission (which deletes the application number), update their Talent Pool entry, and resubmit before the deadline.

2. Step 2 Document Submission (for candidates who pass Step 1)

  • Period: Mid–late October 2025 (details to be announced with Step 1 results).

  • Required submissions include (PDF upload & email):
    ① Doctoral dissertation and prioritized research achievements (last 4 years)
    ② Degree certificates (B.A., M.A., Ph.D.)
    ③ Transcripts (with GPA/scale)
    ④ Certificates of career/employment
    ⑤ Certificates/licenses (if listed in application)
    ⑥ Two recommendation letters (from faculty in the same field) sent directly by referees to faculty@ewha.ac.kr (PDF with signature; subject line must include applicant’s name).

※ Resident registration numbers must be redacted.
※ Documents in languages other than Korean or English must be accompanied by a Korean translation or summary.
※ Originals will be required upon final appointment.


◈ Major Schedule

  1. 1. Talent Pool registration & online application: Aug. 25 (Mon) – Sept. 8 (Mon), 2025.

  2. 2. Step 1 results announcement: Oct. 10 (Fri), 2025 (via Talent Pool system only; no individual notices).

  3. 3. Step 2 document submission: Mid–late October 2025.

  4. 4. Research presentation / public lecture (Step 2): Early–mid November 2025 (department-level notice).

  5. 5. Step 2 results announcement: Late November 2025.

  6. 6. Final interviews: December 2025.

  7. 7. Final results announcement: Early January 2026.
    ※ Schedule is subject to change depending on recruitment progress.


◈ Additional Information

  1. 1. Appointment date: March 1, 2026 (Spring Semester) / September 1, 2026 (Fall Semester).

  2. 2. Appointment will be on a salary contract basis, in accordance with Ewha’s Faculty Personnel Regulations.

  3. 3. If no qualified candidates are found, no appointment will be made, or appointment conditions may be adjusted.

  4. 4. Applicants may not apply for more than one field.

  5. 5. Discovery of false information (academic records, career, achievements, etc.) will result in cancellation of acceptance and appointment.

  6. 6. Applicants must promptly notify the Faculty Personnel Team if their contact details change during the review process. The University is not responsible for missed communications due to errors or failure to notify.

  7. 7. Step 2 documents will be returned upon request (except for those submitted electronically, per the Fair Hiring Procedure Act).

  8. Applicants to the College of Medicine must review the Duties of Professors at Ewha Womans University College of Medicine.
