Combined Master’s and Doctoral program is offered for all 4 concentration majors.

Academic Requirements

The following criteria should be met in order to complete and acquire a diploma on the chosen degree program.

Master’s Degree
  • Two years (four semesters) of regular enrollment
  • Completion of 38 coursework credits + thesis (3 credits) OR 41 coursework credits if not taking thesis with a grade point average of 3.00 or above
  • Completion of the Department of International Studies Core Courses
  • Completion of the selected degree program’s course requirement
  • Completion of all requirements within 7 years
Doctoral Degree
  • Two years (four semesters) of regular enrollment
  • Completion of 36 coursework credits with a grade point average of 3.00 or above
  • Completion of the Department of International Studies Core Courses
  • Completion of the selected degree program’s course requirement
  • Successful completion of the Comprehensive Exam
  • Successful completion of a Doctoral Dissertation and Oral Defense
  • Completion of all requirements within 11 years
Academic Requirements for Combined Master's - Doctoral Degree
  • Three years (6 semesters) or four years (8 semesters) of regular enrollment
  • Completion of 60 coursework credits with a grade point average of 3.00 or above
  • Completion of the Department of International Studies Core Courses
  • Completion of the selected degree program’s course requirement
  • Successful completion of the Qualifying Exam and the Comprehensive Exam
  • Successful completion of a Doctoral Dissertation and Oral Defense
  • Completion of all requirements within 13 years
