Detail Info
Lynn Pyun specializes in how the institutional context shapes business performances at the international level. Reflecting her international and multidisciplinary background, Lynn is especially interested in topics related to cross-border activities. Her current research interest flows along two streams: first, how multinational corporations strategically adapt to local institutions as they move on to overseas markets; second, how organizations can motivate workers with the highest potential to maximize their productivity. Her work in Administrative Science Quarterly (2019) has been quoted by major media outlets such as the Economist, Forbes and Huffington Post. Most recently, she is interested in how globalization and value creation are taking place in the creative industries, such as K-pop and other hallyu businesses. Prior to Ewha, Lynn was an Assistant Professor of International Business at Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY), and a post-doctoral associate in the Strategy Unit at Harvard Business School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Yonsei University and both her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from MIT. She is also currently serving as an Associate Editor of a SSCI-indexed journal, Asia Pacific Business Review.
