The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea is inviting applications for a position of Communications Assistant.


I. Summary of Position  

The Communications Assistant will be assisting the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP)’s overall fundraising communication tasks.   


II. Duties and Responsibilities 

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Communications Assistant, the incumbent will perform the following duties:


Fundraising Communications Strategy and Annual Plan 

1. Assist to set up and manage the fundraising communication strategies and annual plans of the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) 

2. Develop communication messages and coordinates a wide range of materials for communications for private sector partnerships (PSP) fundraising programs 

3. Develop or help guide production of content and materials for various fundraising campaigns per channel (blog, Youtube, etc.)

4. Plan and implement or help implement event programs for fundraising communication or branding 


Performance Analysis, Reporting and Budgeting

1. Develop, analyse and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular analysis reports to the supervisor 

2. Carry out media monitoring of fundraising communications of UNHCR and other charities and provide regular monitoring reports

3. Manage, forecast and expend the budgets of the fundraising communication  


Collaboration, Media Partnership and Agency Management 

1. Assist to identify opportunities for positive media to maximize media opportunities for private sector fundraising activities and maintain a network of media contacts

2. Act as a focal point for media enquiries on Fundraising Communications collaborating with the Public Information (PI)

3. Research and act as a key point of contact for key influencers including social influencers, artists and/or other experts 

4. Research, build and work with various partners, including PR agencies 


Others

1. Work with the Public Information, External Relations, Protection, Face to Face, Digital or Donor Care colleagues to support the development of strong Brand where appropriate

2. Take up duties of other specific projects, in particular promoting the Brand events as assigned by the supervisor

3. Take up necessary administrative work and communications support that complement the above duties as assigned by the supervisor

4. Perform other duties as required


III. Required Qualifications 


1) Required Qualifications

1. Completion of a university degree in marketing, media and communications or related subject such as journalism or advertising preferred 

2. In lieu of degree, minimum 1 years of relevant work experience. 

3. Previous work experience as marketing PR communication / Brand communication / Account Executive at PR agency / marketing PR specialist would be preferred

4. Experience in communications or digital marketing communications 

5. Fluency in Korean and English(both written and spoken)

6. Interest in humanitarian activities and international organizations


2) Preferred Qualifications

1. Capable of creating or producing digital / social media contents 

2. Experiences in Computer Software (Photoshop, Adobe Premier, etc.) 

3. Experiences in managing websites and SNS channels

4. Experience in media event management or operation


IV. Duration of Contract 

Six-month probationary period with a possibility to extend contract on a yearly basis depending upon her/his satisfactory performance
