Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre working for UNESCO Member

States to promote Education for International Understanding (EIU) and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) towards a Culture of Peace. The Centre was established in 2000

following the Agreement between UNESCO and the Government of the Republic of Korea. APCEIU is recruiting staff to contribute to the global and regional programmes in the area of Global Citizenship Education as follows:

1. Position Available

○ One position in External relations

2. Responsibilities

○ Implement and monitor the ‘Global and Regional GCED Network’ Programme

○ Support the overall activities of external relations’ duties at APCEIU 

○ Perform additional tasks as required and assigned by the Office

3. Required Qualifications

○ Education

- Master’s Degree or above (Expected graduates of February 2024 included)

○ Nationality 

- Non-Korean nationals from the UNESCO Member States in the Asia-Pacific region 

○ Work Experience 

- Relevant experiences or interest in the field of EIU/GCED

○ Skills and Competencies

- Strong organizational and coordination skills

- Analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and in a multicultural environment.

- Good IT skills including knowledge of office software.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

○ Languages

- Excellent knowledge in English, both verbally and in writing, and working-level knowledge in Korean

4. Conditions of Employment

○ Employment Type: Regular, full-time position

○ Working Hour: 09:00-18:00, Five days a week (Mon-Fri)

○ Compensations and benefits: In accordance with the APCEIU’s Salary Regulations

○ Location: APCEIU Office (Guro-gu, Seoul)

5. Expected Employment Start Date

○ 7 March 2024 (subject to change, depending on visa issuance process)

※ 1-year apprenticeship period

○ Application Review

※ The number of applicants selected for the written exam will be 20 times as many as the number of the position available. Kindly note that the

applicants with assessment scores under the minimum passing score will not be considered for further screening.

※ When the number of applicants to be selected for the next assessment is over the limit because of tied scores, all the tied applicants will be selected.

○ Written Exam: English Essay Test, Korean- English/English-Korean Translation

※ The number of applicants selected for the interview will be 10 times as many as the number of the position available. Kindly note that the applicants with assessment scores under the minimum passing score will not be considered for further screening.

※ When the number of applicants to be selected for the next assessment is over the limit because of tied scores, all the tied applicants will be selected.
